Hello, my name is Ben Wikner, owner and operator of Wikner Custom Pumping. I grew up on a 2200 head breed to wean sow and row-crop farm in Northeast Iowa. Upon completion of high school, I joined the Iowa Army National Guard where I was honorably discharged after 8 years of service in 2021.  I graduated from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College with an Associates Degree in Agribusiness then transferred to Iowa State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Studies. After college graduation I have been back on our family farm working with my brother, Neal, for the past 6 years.

Four years ago, frustrated with untimely manure applications, rising costs, and biosecurity concerns, we purchased our own dragline manure system. There was a steep learning curve to this system with the contours and terracing of Northeast Iowa. Once the system was understood, I will argue that I don’t feel there is a more efficient way to apply manure to our fields. In 2024, we decided to offer dragline manure application as a custom service. We have sold our previous 6” system and invested in a larger 8” system with additional pumps and larger toolbar to better provide timely and efficient application.

Growing up on a livestock and row-crop farm, I know firsthand how important correct application of manure is to our fields. It’s our livelihood and we want to take pride in every step of it. I will treat your farm like my own. We respect farm and landowners by applying in conditions fit for application. We want to work with you to ensure that things are done to your farm’s standard. We are a fully commercial licensed and insured manure application business, ready to help you get your nutrients from the pit to the field.

I hope to get an opportunity to work with you in the future and build a business relationship lasting years into the future. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Ben Wikner
